What is a MMPI 2

The MMPI-2, published in 1989 by the University of Minnesota Press, is a revision of the original MMPI®, published in 1943. The MMPI-2 is a self-report instrument designed to aid in the assessment of a wide range of clinical conditions.  It is used in nonclinical settings to assess persons who are candidates for high-risk public safety positions, such as police officers, firefighters, pilots, and air-traffic controllers.

As Assisted Reproduction Technology has become more sophisticated, these tests have become commonly used to assess the personality of potential Egg Donors, Surrogates and Intended Parents.  More specifically, the test is used to provide the psychologist a backdrop with which to determine the suitability for these persons in the contemplated medical procedure.  The true-false questions take about one hour to complete.  The test results can demonstrate certain psychological traits such as honesty, dependency and manipulativeness all of which can effect the interrelations between the parties and between Parent and child.
